Planning your wedding or any special event can be stressful so you might as well be kind to yourself during the process. Here are some tips to remind you to be kind to your body, mind and spirit.

Keep Hydrated

Being hydrated can often take a back burner when our schedules become hectic, but there are things we can do:

  1. Drink Coconut Water - a natural way to get your electrolytes (which help to hydrate)

  2. High water content foods such as watermelon or cucumber.

  3. Download an app such as “My Water” that allows you to set goals & reminds you to drink water throughout the day.

Get Lots of Beauty Rest

If you’re having a hard time getting in your beauty sleep:

  1. Check with your doctor to see if magnesium supplements could be useful or take a magnesium bath before bed.

  2. Epson salt baths can also be relaxing before bed and have many benefits. Add in a few drops of your favorite essential oil for a relaxing sensory experience.

  3. Cutting down on exposure to blue light and devices three hours before bed. If you must be exposed to blue light try using amber glasses or blue blockers.

  4. Doing breathing exercises before bed can help activate the parasympathetic nervous system, lowering cortisol levels and relaxing the body.

  5. Try a castor oil pack. Research has shown they help lower cortisol levels, which can help with stress.
